Marooned on Islands in the Car-chipelago

That's what the title of the previous post should have been...

  1. I like it!

I saw a program about the original GULAG today and it is a bit extreme to use that word. Car-chipelago might just catch on.

We live in a car-chipelago of sorts too. We are on a small piece of mainland Rhode Island that is only connected to the rest of Rhode Island by a bridge that is not open to pedestrians or cyclists.

  2. Thanks, Tillerman. You truly do live on a carchipelago. That would really annoy me, especially if it were a small Island. I was disappointed to not be able to walk across the harbor bridge when I was in Auckland, but I was pleased to find out that there is a strong campaign to open it up to pedestrians and bicycles.

  3. Good news is that our bridge is being replaced and the new one will be open to cycles.

  4. That's good news. And I now understand why it was called Road Island...
